I attempted to upgrade from dnn 5 to 5.01.01. I did this by downloading the upgrade package, unzipping it and copying the files over to my dnn insall folder. Then I attempted to start the upgrade by going to http://mysite/instal/instal.aspx?mode=upgrade due to the fact that I have autoupgrade set to false in my web config file I read that this is whay you're supposed to do. When opeing that page I recieved this error:

I have absolutely no idea what this means aside from there's a null value that it doesn't like. Any help?

I got the same thing so I changed the auto upgrade set to true and it went through.

Hi I have tried the solution with the autoupgrade = true, but no luck have you resolved the problem in any way?

Thanks in advance,

Antonis

if upgrading from version 4.6.2 and above, make sure not to edit web.config items manually. if you encouter start options however, you may open it in a text editor and add a blank at the end of any line and save the file. THis will restart the application.

Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for your response. I have not changed the web.config at all only prior the upgrade, when we were on 4.6.#something#. The web.config was not changed manual from 04.09.00 to 05.00.01 and now I am trying to upgrade from 05.00.01 to 05.01.02, as .02 came out and the same error.

Any other ideas on this error? Do you need more information regarding my installation?

Thanks,

Antonis
