Ok this is freaky and I'm sure it cannot be any reason for it, but I just noticed that my site comstarguard.com and the site in which started this thread comstar.biz  both have comstar in the name and have the same problem..... What are the odds?

I got the exact same issue on my site.  The workaround above seems fine, but I do wonder what the implications are.

Thank you for this thread.  Just got my site back because of it.  I mean....really Big Thanks.

This makes no sense to me whatsoever.  All I can say is that today I decided to use SharePoint Designer to modify files on the site rather than moving files back and forth via the webhost's file manager.  Could this have anything to do with it?  I can only guess.

My gratitude to you

I am getting this error.  I made a minor change to the web.config and when I tried to hit the site this error started.  I changed the web.config back and I still get the error.

Any suggestions?

The web.config change was adding an alternate captcha line if it matters at all.
