I would like to add a "banner image" to my portal - not banner advertising, rather an image that should appear under the tabbed page menu on my portal.  My initial thought was to add an Image module to the BannerPane, and make that module "display on all pages".  Is there a better/preferred way?  Thanks in advance,

- Ron.

Build it into your skin.

Thanks.  I'm really a newbie - any advice on how to do that (a link you can send me or something)?

I've never done this before, but I want to say you can build it into the skin and also manage it like you do vendor banners. I can't really remember, but I want to say I saw something that used the banner skin object to specify a specific vendor. If you specify yourself as a vendor, this would work.

Know that I've never done this. I just remember seeing it in a sample skin somewhere, so I can't verify whether it does or doesn't or how it would work. Just figured I'd mention it because it seemed like an interesting idea

Probably the best way to start with skinning is to create a skin in HTML using the DNN Tokens ( [MENU] , [LOGIN], [CURRENTDATE], etc. ) along with an attached CSS sheet and all images used, zip it up and then upload the skin package. DNN will convert it into an ASCX file and this should let you insert images wherever you'd like, but these are fixed and only changeable by updating the skin. It took me ~4 sites until I got comfy with the whole skinning process, and for simplicity I would suggest starting with a table-based layout and later on try to tackle CSS.
