We want to provide a both a main navigation and a "utility" navigation (see http://usa.autodesk.com/ for an example).  How do we create a set of links for the top of the page (i.e. "Company", Contact Us" ) without hardcoding them in the theme.  (For example, many CMS's menu tools allow you specify links relative to a specific folder or page on the site).

You could place 2 instances of the DNN Nav menu in the skin and have one set to display on Root-Level Items and the other only Child Level.  Else, you could purchase a 3rd-party module / skin object menu that allows you to turn on or off items per module instance. DNN 360's NavSuite CISS Side Menu does this...
