Hi Gilles and Benoit!
Current ISearchable interface implementation works satisfactory only with single instance of catalog module on portal. If one use more catalog instances then search results is … everything but not good. It is strange that nobody complains…

To be short: I would like to suggest handling this problem with new general setting item within catalog module. Something like “Enable Content Indexing” checkbox. Then we can modify GetSearchItems() function to check this setting instead that what is checking currently.

If you like this idea, please respond and I will publish all implementation details.

Hi Jan,

This is a bug! :-( Could you enter this one in Gemini and publish your workaround? I have added a new setting (EnableContentIndexing) in the ModuleSettings class and related code to manage them in the CatalogSettings class. To avoid the bug, I have added this two folowing lines at line 158 in the ProductController class:

                ModuleSettings moduleSettings = new ModuleSettings(this.ModuleId, this.TabId);

                if (bool.Parse(moduleSettings.General.EnableContentIndexing))

If your workaround is better, I will use it. Thanks,

Gilles

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.
