I've been running a site with DNN for about six months now and have always had problems with the paypal subscriptions.  I have a paypal account and have configured it in DNN, and when users select to subscribe it takes them to paypal and it does collect their payment.  However, I never can get it to automatically subscribe the user, and I always have to go back in and add the role to the user account.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has or has had a similar problem and has solved it.  Advice would be greatly appreciated.  I'm running 3.2.2 if it matters, and have had the problem with earlier versions too.  Not sure if I have a configuration problem of if something with my hosting provider causes problems (dotnetpark.com).

I've been trying to play around with the paypal subscriber button too.  There is a bug posted in gemini but doesn't look like it's been assigned to anyone.

Hi Guys,

I had it working for about 5 minutres and now it refuses to add the role once the user is redirected back to the site. Has anyone been able to use the subscritpion service properly? I am desperate for a solution here and willing to find someone who may have a custom solution. I am relying on the subscription service for a site I am doing and have built it around dotnetnuke, however I am not sure the core subscription service will suffice. I have looked at the non core subscription module however its not for recurring payments or pay pal subscription service.

Regards,

Jay

have a look at the following issue in Gemini, I reported this in relation to 3.1.1 and 2.1.2.  I am not sure about more recent versions.

Also have a look at Scott McCulloch's subscription tool's they might fit what you want to do:
