Hi

Just wanted to know whether there is a better way to install additional languages for DNN, the issue is installing a new language at host level installs the language automatically for all child portals. Then we have to go through the child portals and delete them. Is there a way of installing languages and making them not active in child portals? Or is installing them and deleting them the normal behaviour?

Thanks in advance

A new language is enabled for all portals by default - AFAIR this is still the behaviour in DNN 5.1.

In DNN 4, you may use the locales files inside /app_Globalresources to control language easily, if looping through all portals via UI is too difficult for you.

DNN 5 stores this information in the database (PortalLanguage table AFAIR).

Thanks for your response, i guess we'll have to go through and manually disable languages on portals. The problem is that it stops and restarts DNN and as we have more then 200 customer portals running it takes a long time for DNN to start back up.

Thanks

in DNN4, the information is stored in languages.xml files in /app_GlobalResources folder, i.e. you might find a proper way of mass editing it.
