Hi,

I'm currently running Forum module 4.4.3 having tried the newest version and had worse issues. The problem is as follows . . .

My portal is set to use AD authentication and as a new user logs in there DNN account is created. When I check their user account in the forum settings they're set to be a trusted user and recieve Moderator emails. I turn this off, update, then return and it's back on again?!?!

Initially I was using and older ver 3 (i think) of the module and had the issue, moved to the lastest build and found some areas where grey'd out. So I removed the module, check the SQL tables where removed and installed 4.4.3. There a list of about 15 users when I check within the portal, yet if I check dbo.Forum_Users in SQL there's only 4 users?!

I really want to be able to add this functionality to my portal but really must iron out these issues first . . . Can anyone offer some support? This is a new module so I can easily rip out and start again, just that seemed not to work unless I need to flush other tables etc

Thanks - Dave.

Hi Dave. What you are seeing with regards to Forum_Users is expected. A user is only added to this table once they actually log into the site and visit the forum or an admin locates them within the module and views/edits their settings (ie. in that user's control panel/my settings). Also, a user can show up here multiple times if there are multiple portals and they have an account in those separate portals (which doesn't seem to apply in your case).

As for the trust and email thing, if the user is not a moderator this email thing should be of no concern. It shouldn't be showing for non-moderators but that is a bug I noticed in the new release (that it shows to non moderators). The trust problem, however, doesn't seem to be making much sense to me. Make sure you review your settings (there is a lock trust, trust new users set of checkboxes).
