Hello,

I have one domain which is currently live and running. So i wanted to revamp the whole website so thats why i created a subdomain in it and made the whole website. And now the time has come to make the subdomain site as the main domain. Can any one tell how to do it and how to do the redirect to the old pages that were there to the new page.

Thank you for the help in advance.

Regards

Mujahed Khan

I wouldn't have a child portal, but a subdomain (new.mydomain.com instead of www.mydomain.com/child, because this will pertail all relative paths to documents and images and makes it quite easy to switch domains.

If you have access to the database, you may switch paths directly in table PortalAlias.

Otherwise you need a 2nd (subdomain) (dummy.mydomain.com), add it to current parent portal.

Login using the new alias and remove previous alias www.mydomain.com

add www.mydomain.com as new alias to your child portal
