I work for a public school system, and funding is extremely thin. We currently have DNN 5.1 running connected to Active Directory for our Intranet site, and need a module for our maintenance and IT departments that essentially is a work order system, or trouble ticket system. Basically, what we need is a module that teachers can login to, create a trouble ticket, and that gets assigned to their school administrator, that administrator then can release that ticket to the system operator who decides what technician that work order will be assigned to. We dont generally have groups of people that work on single work orders, just single technicians. We also dont want the technicians being able to create new work orders themselves, just work on ones they are given.

Does anyone know a free or extremely cheap module that we could get to accomplish this task? Thanks for your input.

Enterprise forms is not free but against any school budget it is extremely cheap. It has a robust workflow capability and I have worked on projects with it very similar to what you describe.

Please note that it is highly featured and there is a learning curve - not plug and play except for simper form/data collection purposes.

 Power users can do much with it, but someone with developer's skills can make it do far more than one would expect.
