i am a total novice at this stuff, so this may be a dumb question. I find no links module (nor others as well, for instance blog and forum) in my menu in the install of 5.01.0. When the webhost first installed, the install was 4.9.x. When i started working with it, in the host module definitions page, there were a number of modules that you could add by a check box. The host updated me to 5x and it did not work well, so they made a fresh install that I am working with now. I found a list of downloads at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/Default.aspx but it does not include the modules I mentioned. Plus only a few list as for 5x.

1). are the others compatible with 5x

2) What am I missing. Is the links module before my eyes and I cannot find it?

Hi Richard,

in DNN 5x you can install Available Modules by navigating to Host > Extensions

Be sure to check out the new version of the links module (BETA) as it comes with some quite handy tweaks:

"Image" module has been sunsetted 4 years ago and replaced by Media module.

Easiest option, however, to display an image is using Text/HTML module (called HTML in DNN 5, in order to make it more appealing for newbie users) and select "insert image" from icon bar. Integrated image gallery provide thumbnails of all images in the portal directory and allow uploading from local PC. make sure to resize/ optimize images prior to uploading.
