How do we go from DNN 3.0.13 and Forum/Blog 3.0.13 to DNN 3.1 Forum/Blog 3.10.01?

Do you know the truth when you hear it?

Upgrade DNN first!  The forum module SHOULD still be working. (It did here on dotnetnuke.com).  Next you should upgrade the forum/blog module.  This is a tried and tested method that recommend to all.

I'll ask this now so there maybe an answer when I upgrade later tonight.  Bearing in mind I have not yet RTFM .

Anyway, I updated to DNN 3.1.  My current beta forum install still works OK.  I will DL the new forum files.  I will then .... ??

Do I read the readme.txt file correctly that I simply upload the forumblog.DNN zip file as any new module and it will update the current forum on the fly?

Thanks!

To answer my own post ... it seems that the Forum/Blog upgrade process is as follows:

Upgrade to 3.1
Upload the Forumblog.zip (DNN) file as you would any other module.

If you have not had the ForumBlog before, you will now.
If you have the Forum/Blog currently running, you will now have the latest version, no further action necessary (except to improve or modify the forum anyway).

Sorry for being so black-and-white on this.  But if I have one gripe about DNN, it is that the developers of the core and user modules really skimp on the direction for what to do and what is expected.  Not all of us do this for a living and some direction would be useful to help us poor saps out.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly do appreciate all the hard work!

Thanks again!
