I'm looking for an inexpensive module for articles, beacause I'm not a company, but a simple human being, having a little personal site, I am not able to pay astronomic prices for the module, from 249 $ and up.

So, I am limited to something like going to 50$ MAX.

The module I am looking for is to manage articles, which has to have categories and sub-categories, and localization support, because my site is not in English.

After making a search, I found these two modules:

- Ventrian News Articles (24,95)

-   Interactivewebs.com.au Australia - Announce IT (49,95)

What will you suggest to choose?

AFAIK, both sites support (localized) single language portals.

Ventrian Modules are well known for its quality.

if you are looking for a multilingual alternative, www.MLAnnouncements from www.apollo-software.nl (a ML version of core module Announcements) should be worth to put an eye on.

I suggest Ventrian but not at that price. Instead, pay $50 per year for a subscription to Ventrian Systems, and use News Articles, Simple Gallery, Property Agent, Private Messages, File Links and any of the other resources Scott offers. Excellent reputation and support, strong community of DNN users all come along for the price.

Note that I am not, by recommending Ventrian Systems, disparaging your other candidate. I don't know anything about them. But I've been using Ventrian for years. Solid stuff.

DNN Core Announcements module is too basic for me, even localized. It's good to show simple site's news, but has no extra publishing options.

Ventrian News Articles - yes. I have seen a lot of good reviews about this module. The price is very attractive, knowing that you hav also access to other Ventrian's modules. The one thing that's stopping me to buy it right away, is that I am not sure if it supports sub-categories.

Let's see what other people say.

Thanks to all for the answers!

I found that now Ventrian News Articles supports sub-catagories.

So, since AnnounceIT is not as widely used and recognized as Ventrian, and of course because of good price, I will chose Ventrian.
