Depending on your needs, you might look at one of the forms modules out there, such as XMOD or Dynamic forms.

Caluculations are possible in Xmod, Dynamic forms, etc. but it requires you to write a lot of javascript to do it.

Depending on your requirements, and I haven't looked at it that close yet, you might check out Smart Calculator from ZLDNN on snowcovered. It is not a "calculator" like you'd think.  It appears to be more of a form type module which might work for you.  You could also check out the jquery.sheet plugin.  That developer talked about possibly making a DNN module out of it but you could possibly custom build your own now using it.

We're getting ready to launch an online Request-for-Proposal to gather data on proposals. I would guess it depends a lot on what you're quoting. With our website development work, there are a lot of variables that we can't depend on the customer to fully communicate at times. Custom flash-based elements being a prime example, in that some people see a site with a certain interaction and while it LOOKS simple, the logic can be a nightmare, even moreso if it's meant to tie into a CMS-based site in anyway. Therefore, we don't offer immediate quotes, as we'd be stuck to those. However, if you've got a more solid set of cost-per-item, you would probably do well with Xmod (was not exactly 'simple' to setup last I worked with it), Dynamic forms, or Enterprise forms (our choice, in no small part to an enterprise-level license).
