Folks,

I've been trying to make an obscured mailto: link behind a custom caption.  The caption will be the person's name, taken from another field in the table.  The documentation tells me I can get the mailto: link out of the '_UDT_Caption' field of an email type column.  What I'm seeing is the actual caption of the email link, not the mailto:

I have 3 fields. [Name] is the person. [Email] is their email address. [Contact] is a custom field that uses the latter 2 fields with the following expression that doesn't work:

'<a href="' + [Email_UDT_Caption] + '">' + [Name] + '</a>'

What do I need to do to fix this?  I'n on DNN5.1.

Thanks!

Bump.  Anyone there?  Is this just not possible?  I also tried doing this by simply making a mailto: link in a rich text box (which obscures the email address automatically), but found that didn't work inside a F&L.  Seems to work elsewhere on my site, though.

The correct string for a caclulated column field would be

'<a href="mailto:' + [Email_UDT_Caption] + '">' + [Name] + '</a>'

it can not be obscured. Please add this as feature request
