So much of DNN just works right out of the box I don't understand why this syndication stuff doesn't.  Here's my problem.

My production portal is currently set up as portal.domainname.com

My dev portal is set up on local host.

Both are running dnn 5.x

Internal feeds are working fine to other sites but niether site could use their own feeds.  Eventually I was able to get my local site to work by setting up integrated security and impersonate user but that didn't fix internal syndication on the production site.  I tried using an IP address instead of the portal alias url thinking it the site didn't know who it was, no dice.  I tried passing the credentials to both the IP and the url and still no dice.  I'm not sure how to use friendly urls for this so I didn't try that.

My question is, how do you configure your site to be able to see it's own syndicated items?  No matter what news reader I use I get the same result from internal feeds yet they always work externally, so how do I configure the website to be able access it's own content?  What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any help.
