DotNetNuke 5.01 Install Fails for me on windows 2003 server using msqsl server 2005. This is my first attempt ever to install dotnetnuke, however, I have successfully deployed dot net applications and the network service account bit is not new to me although I am not an expert. Iam familiar with mssql server 2005 although I am not an expert The log produced is empty. When I go to http://localhost/DotNetNuke after the failed install I see Server Error in '/DotNetNuke' Application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Parameter count does not match Parameter Value count. There are a couple of issues in DNN 5.0.1, which have been fixed in 5.1.1, I strongly suggest to install using this version.

Clear installation folder and database and restart from scratch.

Sorry, my failed install experience has been with 5.1.1. I was wondering if 4.9.4 will be any better.

I cannot get 5.1.1 to install either.  I've cleared the db and re-unzipped the install package several times.  I've made sure my db user has db_owner and public roles.  I get the error

Failure installing Database Scripts
Installing Database - Version 05.00.00...FAILURE 400 - Thread was being aborted.

If I try to go to my url a second time (without clearing the db etc) then it says

Upgrading DotNetNuke
Current Assembly Version: 05.01.01
Current Database Version: 05.00.00
Upgrade Status Report

00:00:00.015 - Upgrading to Version: 05.01.01
00:00:00.062 -   Executing Script: 05.00.01.SqlDataProvider
...
Upgrade Complete

Then if I try to click to go to the portal - I get a runtime error message with no details.

any help would be fantastic.  Thanks.

I've downloaded the 5.1.1 package and tried installing it with my SQL settings, and it fails just as the others in this thread have. I do notice that even though I've downloaded the 5.1.1 package, when the wizard is trying to set up the database objects, it reads 5.0.0.

It does successfully create tables, views, and a large number of stored procedures before it errors out. I've tried this on my home computer (using a remote SQL database) and on a web server (also using a remote SQL database). All my attempts end the same - thread aborted & no other explanation.
