If you work with DNN long enough, you end up with either a good sense of humor or large box of pharmaceuticals.  :)

I must say this is quite frustrating.... if this product is to be supported by the community I fail to see how not fixing this embraces that ideal?  I think this is a great it seems that the simple thing to do here is to correct notification in the current version you are running as a patch.. this way you dont have to spend all teh time converting.. just fix that which is broken... anyone else agree here?

Where is the source for the current version? I will take a look and fix it .. it cannot be that hard to correct the portion of the code that is NOT presently working as a patch... we dont need a new tire we just need to patch the flat.

There is a new version that is supposed to have fixed the notification issue (along with others)  We are all waiting for DNN to upgrade it on this site.  They are understandably cautious on doing it becuase of the large number of users who rely on these forums.  That having been said,  the new version has been out for quite awhile. One would think there would have ben enough time to test it. (and even roll back if needed).  It doesn't seem like it is a high priority for them.

Oooh...I got it!

If the DotNetNuke.com guys would simply upgrade to the "Pro" version of DNN they'd get the priority support needed to update the Forums module!

(Really....this was an annoying-but-smaller issue until the paid "Pro" version was introduced.  Now long-standing issues like this on DNN's own site are a terrible reflection on what potential "Pro" customers might expect.  Either fix it or hide the option for appearance's sake, at the least.  I ask as a fan of DNN...)
