Hi,

I'm experiencing a time lack on logon when using AD-Provider (actual 1.00.00.4 installed).
initally i thought my website gets recompiled but as I'm using Keep-Alive services now and observed the behaviour for some time I'm quite sure that the AD-Authentication is causíng the slow "first" startup.

Any ideas what could be the reason that it takes that long? (~up to 10 seconds)
Or am I completely wrong and its not the AD-provider?

Any hint, idea is highly appreciated

It's the AD provider when it's trying to synch roles. The more roles you have (either in DNN or that the user belongs to in the AD)  to longer it takes to synch. You can try turning off Synchronize Roles as a test to see if that speeds logins up.

Disabling the role-synchronization seems to speed the login up!.. It's really fast now.
Unfortunately role-sync is mandatory for my customer so. Are there plans to take a look on the performance for this feature?

Should i update to the most current version of the AD Provider ( i think its 1.00.6) from my actual one (1.0.4)

Thanks for your help so far!!

With every version I've tried to improve the role synch as that's the real bottleneck. Another DNN Team member (Stefan Cullmann) has sent me some changes that he's used but I with work and outside commitments I haven't been able to implement them yet. I hope to do so before the month is thru.
