Hi there,

The lastest blogs of the dnn website show that have been found two security issue that affect some version of dnn (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/News/SecurityPolicy/securitybulletinno28/tabid/1363/Default.aspx) and (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/News/SecurityPolicy/securitybulletinno29/tabid/1364/Default.aspx), but how can i know if this affect my own portal? i don't have any idea of reproduce this security issue in my own portal (Something like ethical hacking).

Anybody knows how can i do this?

If we did know how to do this we wouldn't tell you - it would not be ethical to tell the whole wide world how to hack into sites would it :-)

All you need to do is spend your time upgrading to DNN 4.9.5 or 5.1.2

We don't provide exploit strings as it simply helps hackers - instead we detail what version(s) are affected and what mitigating factors are in place. Realistically any user needs to update as both these issues affect versions from 3.0 on.

In the case of the clientAPI it states that the versions affected are - 3.0 - 4.9.4 inclusive. In addition versions 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1.0 and 5.1.1 are affected.  

In the case of the language skin object , all versions from 3.0 are affected. However, the website must be running more than 1 language for the skin object to appear, so if you're not running multiple langauges it doesn't affect you.

Hi guys,

Well this is the answer that i expected, but the problem is that i used spanish language and in this moment it's not posible upgrade the version of the portal. We have a lot of custom modules that crash when we want to update to higher version, so until we can resolve this problem, we do not upgrade.
