Hi

I have spent weeks trying to install the Install package of DNN on my Vista home pc
The entire installation runs fine with no errors

When selecting the Login link after installation on the home page I get the error below
I have searched forums and tried all the various methods suggested but not luck

I have .net3.5 installed and IIS 6, VWD 2008, VS2008, SQL Server 2008
After following the latest installation instructions for version 5.1.2 I still get the error below when clicking the login link on the home page and even when clicking on the home page link to itself.

Is it possible that someone could point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance

it looks like asp.net is not properly installed. you might need to re-register using regiis.

Thanks for the reply.

I don't know how to register .NET 3.5 again. After Googling a bit, I understood that it is not required and the regiis command is not included in the framework

I also have a couple of other sites running on .NET 3.5 that is working fine.

Hi

Although I have not found the solution to the problem I can propose an alternative
I was attempting to install version 5.1.2 with no success

Out of desperation I did exactly the same install for version 4.9.5 which worked beautifully

I did like the AD authentication provider of the 5.1.2 version and would still like to get that working

Thank you in advance

There might be an issue with the AJAX.Net version, if AJAX.Net 1.0 is not installed.

Try upgrading your DNN 4.9.5 site (but don't forget to backup first).

AD module is available for DNN 4.9 as well and included (see Host settings).
