Currently working on a Mac OSX 10.4.11, 2Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo and wondering if I could install/use DNN on it.

 Hi, Michael-
Typically you'll need a Microsoft environment for DNN as the default data provider depends on running either MS SQL or the free MS SQL Desktop Engine (both are Windows applications).
 
For the Mac your best option is to use a nice virtualization tool like Parallels or VMWare Fusion, both of which allow you to run Windows from within OSX so your Windows programs can run side-by-side with your OSX apps (i.e., no need for reboot between Mac/Windows as you must do with BootCamp).
 
Both of the mentioned programs cost money but you can normally buy the educational versions for half price (around $40) if you are a student at an "approved" university.
