New users in Active Directory no longer automatically have users created in my DNN intranet.

I recently upgraded to DNN 5.1.1 and ActiveDirectoryExtension 5.0.2.  Prior to the upgrade I had it setup so that as users were added to Active Directory they were automatically added to DNN when they logged in the first time.

After the upgrade everything is working except for the automated user creation in DNN.

I have impresonate set to true with administrative privileges (just like I did before) and the checkbox in the extension configuration for Do Not Automatically Create Users? is NOT checked.

In web.config I am using Windows authentication (just as I did before).

Is there something that I am missing?

Thanks,

Craig

 The AD provider is not required when using Windows Authentication. It's been my experience in the past (I haven't tested this in quite awhile) that using Windows Authentication in the web.config and the AD Provider will through the AD provider into an infinite loop. Is there a particular reason why you can't use forms Authentication?

Mike,

I'd be happy to use forms Authentication, but I have two problems with this:

1. When I visit the Intranet the site does not automatically log me in.

2. When I attempt to login with my windows username and password I receive the following error:

[CryptographicException: Bad Data.

   System.Security.Cryptography.CryptographicException.ThrowCryptogaphicException(Int32 hr) +33

   System.Web.CallHandlerExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +181
   System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +75

If I can fix these two issues I'd like to use the forms Authentication.

Thanks,

Craig
