Hi,

Im in the midlle of writing my first custom module and Im struggling to work out how to do something...

Basically, I have written a abnormal load calculator for a friend of mine. It works just fine but now I would like to add some extra functionality.

At the moment, when a certain decision is triggered the table is populated with text that is embedded in my code. Is there a way to make these bits of text content managed?

I would like to drop in a text module into my custom module which would enable the admin to change the text without me having to change the application.

The page with the module on can be seen here: http://www.myabnormalload.com/LoadsReadyReckoner/tabid/1345/language/en-GB/Default.aspx

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Trev

Trevor,

As always there are numerous ways to acheive this.

One quick way would be to use the built in module settings page.  Create a settings.ascx control where the admin can enter the text to display.

You could also put the text in resource files. (.resx) and use the built in localization editng capabilities.
