As long as I can remember, I've always had issues searching the forums for anything older than a few weeks ago. If I open the forums and set the search begin date to the previous year and do a search for anything, it errors out with a timeout problem. Is there a secret handshake or something to make it search deeper?

GMan:

I have never been able to comprehend why is it that the searches time out in the Forums either.  Not even after SQL Server introduced full text indexing and searching a long time ago.  The secret is spelled G-o-o-g-l-e, just use the notation site:www.dotnetnuke.com.

While on the subject of Forums bugs, is it me or the Forums thread notifications still don't work, it's been what, two years???

Thanks for the link Ian. However the forum link points to the DNN forums where the problem lies so we're back to square 0. I would like to be able to search further back than last month so how do I do it? Is this an undocumented 'feature'? Perhaps this is why the start date defaults to last month. Lastly, the 'Paying' customers who wish to set up the forums on their site - does it work for them?
