I am not 100% sure by what you mean?

I control the links in the footers (key areas of my site) so I use a normal Text/HTML mod for each column.

I meant in terms of displaying the entire site map as the footer shown in your website. By which if a page has been inserted, deleted or name changed, it would also reflect on the sitemap.

No, not on my site (my sitemap is huge!).

You could use Ventrian ChildLinks to do this but I need fine-level control over my footer (My actual Sitemap uses the ChildLink module in some places).

It really depends on your footer design and what you want to put in there.

Ventrian's Child Links would make this easy, at least as far as the Apple/Mozilla sites go.  Create a new container and module for each top level menu item, use Child Links with that menu item as the parent.  format the template as you want the links to appear.
