Hi,

We recently upgraded our SQL database to SQL Server 2008. We did a backup of the old database and restored this to the new SQL Server 2008.

We amened the connection string in the web.config to point to the new database - all seams to have come accross ok.

I noticed in the web.config file there are two possble formats for the connection string - one for SQL Server 2005 Express and one for SQL Server 2000/2005. We have the connection to the new database sitting in the SQL Server 2005 Express connection string spot in the following format - is this ok?

<add key="SiteSqlServer" value="Data Source=BNE0-0000Q.server-sql.com,0000;Initial Catalog=vs000000_0;User ID+vs000000_0_admin; Password=0a0a0a0a" />

This seams to be working.

We have been experiancing some performance issues across some sites since the upgrade, do we need to do anything else?
