Hi. I've just installed - eventually - DNN5 for the first time following http://www.mitchelsellers.com/blogs/articletype/articleview/articleid/277/installing-dotnetnuke-500-on-remote-host.aspx . The site installed with no issues, but when I go to log in and use the default username host and password dnnhost it says "User Log In Error Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive". I same problem with  admin (and yes caps lock is off). Any suggestions? Can the login details be found in any of the source (web.config, etc)?

Thanks in advance.

Don't use the defaults, use the accounts you configured during the install.

Jeff, that's the problem I didn't configure any during the install. The scripts executed and then I clicked the "proceed to website" link. the only thing I did was edit the web.config with the sql server details. :S .

I have same problem, no login on my site will work. not my host account or any admin.  I am on dnn4.8.

I connected to the database directly since I can't log in to see the event viewer and the DNN db table [EventLog] shows my successful and failed login attempts.

But I am just sent back to login page with no session...

The DNN db has empty tables for table below, but I don't know if that is necessarily a problem.

  • [UsersOnline]
  • [UserAuthentication]
  • [SystemMessages]

Any ideas or places to look for more log information (besides IIS logs) would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brettvp
