Rudy, I'm assuming, because it works sometimes, that you're running the site in the classic pipeline mode. Have you gone through the pinned post at the top of the forum about the work-around on 2k8 and IIS7?

Any chance of you using some capture software such as Camtasia so you could show me exactly what's happening? Screenshots might work as well. Let me know and I'll give you my email so you can contact me directly.

Mike, Yes I went through the pinned post. All seem to work as it should be. The problem got a lot less after installing some pathes from microsoft. Now I see this happen with my account only 20 % of the time and this is looking as if it is caching pages or when we logoff it immediately shows a cannot login page not found page

Hi,

The problem is still there. I get this almost all the time I refresh

401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.

The problem is that I am not logged in and just want to see the first page.

The url is going from the main home page to :

<domein>DesktopModules/AuthenticationServices/ActiveDirectory/WindowsSignin.aspx?tabid=5439

The aspx file has security on it so this is right but why is it jumping to this page?

Any time it detects that the person going to the site is not logged in it forces a redirect to WindowsSignin.aspx to go through the login process.

It almost sounds as if something in the network or on the server is triggering the authentication process far more often than it should be. If you comment out <add name="Authentication".... /> in the <httpModules> section of your web.config this stops the auto authentication process. If you do that and manually login how long does your user stay logged in.

Mike, I just made the change. I will start testing in the next 4 days. Let you know thanks. At this moment it is not happing anymore. So it looks promising.
