We have found that when a menu has a number of pop up items under it the top item is almost always missed as an option. Is there a  way to make the top menu name unselectable? If there is only one item in the list (i.e. "Help") then the menu item needs to do something otherwise i need it NOT to be a possible selection.

Any ideas?

Thank you!

BTW - is it just me or is the search engine getting worse? I rarely get any result other than "TIMED OUT".

There are two options I use to deal with this:

  1. You can "Disable" a page by going into its page settings and placing a checkmark in the disable page checkbox.  This makes it where you see the page in the menu, but if clicked it just expands the child pages (you do not access the page).
  2. The other option is to have the top page redirect to the first (or any) child page (again in the Page Settings using the "Redirect" option).

Both of these have pros and cons.  Hope this helps.

We had tried the redirect method, but was problematic for users not authorized to the page linked. Disable the page is not one we would have thought of.... well because we expected it would disable the page. Go figure.

Thank you, this is very helpful!

It's not uncommon to make the first submenu item something like "Overview"  - just like on this site.
