How do I use another modules localizations (resx files)?

I know the Language Editor does it, and from looking at it and it's code, I would think that

Localization.GetString("TabName", Server.MapPath(Globals.ApplicationPath + "/") + "desktopmodules\Admin\Tabs\App_LocalResources\ManageTabs.ascx.resx");

would get me the TabName.Text entry - I just get an empty string back.

Any tips of where I'm screwing up?

 Localization.GetString("TabName", "desktopmodules/Admin/Tabs/App_LocalResources/ManageTabs.ascx.resx");

Was the magic string - I always forget about the directionality of the slashes... *sigh*

Hi,

For me, this doesn't do the trick. I get empty string (null) back on:

string test2 = Localization.GetString("ShoppingCart", Server.MapPath(Localizations.SharedResourceFile));

public const string SharedResourceFile = "DesktopModules/bBaytShoppingEngine/App_LocalResources/SharedResources.resx";

Also without MapPath.

Any idea's. My collegue thinks it has to do with permissions not right? If so, I have seen some core permission provider, don't know what that is up to.

Any help appreciated, we are stuck. We will set up a source code version for further discussion, but if somebody has the answer that would be great.

J.

 You should use

Localization.GetString("ShoppingCart", SharedResourceFile);

The Localization.SharedResourceFile is the DNN file in app_globalResources. Make sure you are referring to your string (maybe change the name slightly to be sure).
