Our new DNN site is being hosted on a server in a different time zone.  The server is on Eastern time and we are in the Pacific time zone.

What is the correct setting for Admin/Settings/Portal Time Zone?

If I set this to UTC-8 Pacific, with User profile set to UTC -8 as well, Forum posts are 3 hours early, a post at 11:30 AM shows as 8:30 AM.  If I set it to UTC-5, Forum posts are displayed correctly.

The last login time and the entries in the Event log are 3 hours ahead, regardless of hwo Portal Time Zone is set.

I'm on DNN 5.1.2.

Thanks,

William

I always configure my portal time zone to be the Server time zone, then the individual users can choose their own time zone.

I don't know if that's "correct" but that's the way I've always done it.

Yes, that fixes the Forum posts, but now the default time zone for all new accounts is the Portal TIme Zone, not our local one.  I wonder if there's any way to change that...

unfotunately, this is a known issue, which should be solved in a future version of DNN, switching to use Windows time zones.

Was this ever solved?  Is it in the bug tracker?
