I have an interesting issue with authentication...

I have a fairly vanilla 5.01.04 DNN installation. When a user logs in, they can view the page, but then any navigation causes them to have to login again. This happens for regular users and admin users.

However, when I log in with the Host account, it does not have this behavior.

I have tried creating a new child portal, and it still does it there too...

which Authentication systems did you install

if you are using IIS / (Vista/Win7/Win2008), which ASP.Net authentication methods are enabled, make sure to disable impersonation.

I am using forms Authentication with settings that are the same for my other DNN installations.

AuthSettings

I checked and impersonation is disabled...

The odd thing is that the host account DOESN'T do this, just all other accounts. Is there something different about how host authenticates?

Any other ideas?

So, after a little more digging, the .DOTNETNUKE cookie is not being passed down for anyone but the host account.

(Therefore the required login.)

Has anyone seen this before? Got any ideas why it might be doing so? Can't we all just get along?
