We are running DNN 5.1.1 with AD auhentication. There are two domains in our network and one is set as a trusted domain. I would like to show different modules(content) for the users of two different domains, mainly because of their geographical location. One domain is in India and another is in UK. I thought of doing this by enabling view permission on the selected modules for selected security roles. So i shd be adding all Domain 1 users to one group and Domain 2 users to another group. Unfortunately both the ADs have the security group named "Domain Users". If i create a security role named "Domain Users" in DNN, users from both the domains are added to this group. I'm not able to add domain to the security role name - like Domain1\Domain Users". Its not allowed.

Could you please throw some light on how to achieve this?

The Simplest rout would be to create a new Group on each domain that contains the Domain Users Group for that domain. So on india.domain create a group i.e. india user containing india.domain\Domain Users. Do the same on the UK domain and  that should give you 2 separate security group you can use in DNN.

Hope that helps

My Sysadmin says they cannot create groups for this purpose. They don't to take additional work of adding the new users to this group. Is there any way they can automate these processes? Or

Is there anyway i can achieve my goal - display different content for different set of users - UK & India. Both are english language content. But the actual content like announcements, news etc needs to be seperated out. The title, name etc will be same. Is it possible with some of the localization modules?

Hi,

to be honest the only manual work is in initially creating the groups. By adding the (UK\Domain Users) Group as a member of your new UK\UKUsers group Ad will keep it self in sync any user added to UK\Domain Users will automatically be added to UK\UKUsers and conversely if a user is removed from Domain Users.

This will provide you with the 2 separate groups and mean there will be no overhead for the sysadmin asside from initial setup.

The only other method would be to look at the groups they are currently in and see if any of those would suffice.
