Hi,

I've a big issues, I've made a portal that has to be multilanguage (7 languagese), what I need is to have the possibility to map each language with his own domain name.

www.mysite.com -> English

www.mysite.it -> Italian

www.mysite,fr -> french

......and so on with all the other language

I've installed DSLocalizator of Locopon, but If I need I will buy a module (I'm still using DNN 4.9)

My question is how is possible to do it without create multiple portal, due to the issues to maintain them

Any ideas?

Thanks

Enzo

you need to redirect using appropriate language in URL; Effority used to have a redirect module per language, check out their legacy modules on codeplex.

Make sure to turn off browser language identification in Admin :: languages, otherwise this might override your configuration.

 Hi,

I'm not able to find a manual to undestand the features, I've a dubt but it is possible to avoid to have all the languages in all the domains to do not have duplicate content.

For eg.

www.mysite.com/language/en-gb/mypage.aspx

www.mysite.com/language/it-it/mypage.aspx

www.mysite.it/language/en-gb/mypage.aspx

www.mysite.com/language/it-it/mypage.aspx

What I desire is to have

www.mysite.com/language/en-gb/mypage.aspx  ... and not the it-it

www.mysite.com/language/it-it/mypage.aspx ... and not the en-gb

thanks

Enzo

 Sorry...you're right :)

I'm try to explain better.

Normally, if I create a portal multilanguage (for eg. for eng, ita, and german) for each page I've

  • www.mysite.com/language/en-GB/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.com/language/it-IT/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.com/language/de-DE/test.aspx

Now I'm looking to have 3 different domains name each language without doing 3 portals (to avoid maintenance issues).

So I'd like to have

  • www.mysite.com/language/en-GB/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.it/language/it-IT/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.de/language/de-DE/test.aspx

Better if it is possibile to have

  • www.mysite.com/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.it/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.de/test.aspx

What I would like to avoid in the first case is to have the following results:

  • www.mysite.com/language/en-GB/test.aspx
  • www.mysite. com/language/it-IT/test.aspx
  • www.mysite. com/language/de-DE/test.aspx

  • www.mysite.it/language/en-GB/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.it/language/it-IT/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.it/language/de-DE/test.aspx

  • www.mysite.de/language/en-GB/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.de/language/it-IT/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.de/language/de-DE/test.aspx

So I need to disable the other language for each domain. The reason why is to avoid duplicate content that in the previous example I will have with all the /language/* page of the same languages.

This is also the reason why the better solution is the second one:

  • www.mysite.com/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.it/test.aspx
  • www.mysite.de/test.aspx

Thaks

Enzo
