I am hosting at webhost4life, they recycled the pool and then told me to post my problem here.

I ftp'd and overwrote all of the files, over 1300 of them with no failures.  I followed the instructions for the upgrade to the letter, yet the "critical updates available" warning is still at the top of my page. Also, I checked the hosting dashboard and it still shows 5.0.0 as the installed version.

The last step of the instructions said "- browse to localhost/DotNetNuke_Community (or whatever you have used for your url) in your web browser

- the application will automatically execute the necessary database scripts and provide feedback in the browser"

When I visited the site as instructed in the final step of the upgrade, it loaded normally.  There was no feedback in the browser.

Any ideas?  Please help

Chris

 try going to

http://www.mydomain.com//install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade

If that doesn't do anything for you I would advice double checking that you've uploaded the files to the appropriate directory on the web server.

I went to the URL http://www.mydomain.com//install/install.aspx?mode=upgrade and it produced a 404 error, page not found.

Sorry but I have to ask.

Did you actually go to the URL I put it, or did you replace www.mydomain.com with YOUR domain name and then use the URL?

Because the one I typed in WILL return a 404 error as that page doesn't exist on mydomain.com
