Don't waste any further time on it just yet. Plenty of people have the 5.00.00 log error issue and there is no answer for it. Have a read through the "Install It" forum and you'll see what's going on.

If you try other DNN5 versions, you can probably get it to log the error and it will show "Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.Packages' with unique index 'IX_Packages'." The error may also be in your event log regardless of whether it shows in the upgrade log.

There may be other errors, but that'll be the one you get stuck on.

if a drop procedure fails due to procedure not found, you shouldn't worry - there is simply a preceeding test for existance missing in the script.

if there are other errors, this might be different: Please post details to get proper support.

This is the only error recorded in the script... my question is: is this because the one statement failed and thus the execution of the script failed or is this because there were truly no more errors?
