Hi friends.  Here's the error message I get on an upgrade:

Cannot register or retrieve components until ComponentFactory.Container is set

And the stack looks like this:

[InvalidOperationException: Cannot register or retrieve components until ComponentFactory.Container is set]
   DotNetNuke.ComponentModel.ComponentFactory.VerifyContainer() +57
   DotNetNuke.ComponentModel.ComponentFactory.GetComponent() +12
   DotNetNuke.Common.Globals.GetStatus() +62
   DotNetNuke.Common.Initialize.InitializeApp(HttpApplication app) +424
   DotNetNuke.Common.Initialize.Init(HttpApplication app) +152
   DotNetNuke.Common.Global.Global_BeginRequest(Object sender, EventArgs e) +53
   System.Web.SyncEventExecutionStep.System.Web.HttpApplication.IExecutionStep.Execute() +68
   System.Web.HttpApplication.ExecuteStep(IExecutionStep step, Boolean& completedSynchronously) +75

I'm going to roll back to my backup (always a great idea, backup), but I'd like to know what's wrong so I can get it right when I come at this again.

Unblock the zipfile before you do the upgrade.

I have seen that error in other posts.

I'm sorry to be so dense--are you talking about the upgrade zipfile?  I usually just unzip that.  Is there another zipfile involved and, if so, how do I "unblock" it...something I've never even heard of before.

Thanks fo rthe help.

Ken

I'm still not sure what files I'm looking for.  This is on a remote server, and I don't think I can unzip files on the remote server.
