This is an 'old site', been around since 4.2.1. I would really like it if some smart dev type would put their mind to creating a process which would allow me to install a fresh 5.x DNN and migrate all of my content to the new site. I would pay for this! Actually my site would be much better off if I could purge the old stuff. IN fact, would anyone argue that EVERY site would be better if an upgrade would include this purge, maybe it does to some degree?

please remove /bin/dotnetnuke.modules.html*.dll as well as /app_code/html (also remove this from subdirectory node in web.config, if present) and reinstall HTML module 5.1.4 (without uninstalling it!!!!).

I tried your suggestion. I don't find the /bin/dotnetnuk.modules.html*.dll but I removed the /app_code/html directory and the web.config reference. I get this error when I run the HTML install:

..\DesktopModules\HTML\HtmlModule.ascx.vb(62): error BC30002: Type 'HtmlTextController' is not defined.

Message: DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\DNN\DesktopModules\HTML\HtmlModule.ascx.vb(62): error BC30002: Type 'HtmlTextController' is not defined. --->

Any ideas? This install is on Windows 7 x64 btw.

This seemed to have corrected the HTML issue. Thanks. I still have the issue of broken images for the icons in the Admin Menu. They are pointing to /images/~/images/icon_sitesettings_16px.gif for example. Obviously theres and extra /images/~ in there. How do I remove that from all items in the admin menu?
