 Hello
As the last part of a members site I need to find an elegant way to handle yearly subscription payments via proper payment gateways (which precludes modules like Ventrians subscription tools).

I suppose that, in theory, most dnn e-comms packages could do this?  I am particularly interested in providing a good back end for admins and a decent My account page.
I have spent quite along time now looking at the various vendors pages but could really do with a recommendation from someone running a subscription based site.   I also need it to be DNN 5 compatible.

 Thanks

 Ian

I'm also looking for a decent subscription payment module for paid membership feature for security roles.

I have subscription to AllDNNSkins.com and so have their 80015 Combo Login module. Lot's of config options, but UI is a little sloppy and the subscription admin has major holes--as i've seen. (for example, here's a scenario: new user registers, makes payment, recurring payments are set up with paypal, but notification doesn't get back to the module so user role is not assigned to user --> there is no log or notification to admin. You have to wait for a support call from the user complaining about having made payment but not getting access. Then you have to match up the payment with the user--easy enough if user used same email with dnn site as their paypal email--otherwise it's another step to ask user for transaction id. then you can add user to paid security role, but then there is no subscription history in the module.

Sadley, that's still the best module I've seen so far.

Real Zafu,

Have you investigated the DataSprings Dynamic Registration module and its PayPal API events.

I have used it sucessfully for subscription sites with recurring payments set up in PayPal.

Hi Ian,

You could use the standard DNN subscription features if you follow my advices in this post.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi,

Your problem can be related to the PayPal payment mehod used by the module. If it use the Standard Website Payment method (you are redirected to PayPal web site for payment), then you have to enable IPN from your PayPal account.

Alternatively, you could use the standard DNN subscription features if you follow my advices from this post.
