 I see this question has been asked few times now. Its my turn now...

I do not see Portal Alias section/button  under Admin > Site Settings > Advanced Settings

Is it some install problem? Did I need to add some add on or something when I did installation?

 What version of DNN are you using? This was moved under site settings/advanced settings in DNN5. In earlier versions it is at the bottom of the Site Settings page

Are you logged in as HOST or another superuser? If you are simply logged in as an admin you won't see the setting.

Aha ...That was the problem. I was not logged in as host admin.
