I am upgrading from a beta version and it looks like there are a few columns missing.  Can I manually run the SQL scripts is a specific way to properly add the missing columns?

SQL Execution resulted in following Exceptions: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid column name 'EnableRSS'. Invalid column name 'EmailAddress'. Invalid column name 'EmailFriendlyFrom'. Invalid column name 'NotifyByDefault'. Invalid column name 'EmailStatusChange'. Invalid column name 'EmailServer'. Invalid column name 'EmailUser'. Invalid column name 'EmailPass'. Invalid column name 'EmailEnableSSL'. Invalid column name 'EmailAuth'. at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection

You question looks like not related to the Forum Module.  Could it be you mean to generall purpose?

If you had running a upgrade of DNN and it issued, you have to restore the old database and file.  I hope you have done a backup before.

Before you running a backup of DNN you have to do this:

  1. Backup database and files
  2. Backup the web.config file
  3. Check if the physical permissions for the DNN root and its folders and files are setting up well.
  4. Copy the new files of the dnn package (without the web.config file if DNN 4.6 and above is installed) to your dnn root.  On older DNN as 4.6 you have also to copy the web.config file, and make sure you assume both connection strings, maschine key, and databaseOwner settings to the new web.config file
  5. Open your webseite to upgrade.
