Hello:

I have a number of procedures that are executed when a user logs into DNN. Some of this information is stored in session.

If the session information expires, I'd like to be able to prompt users to log in again. However, the DNN login doesn't expire, so it effectively appears like the user is still logged in - the other session data, however, is gone. It makes for a very confusing experience.

It got me thinking that I was persisting this data incorrectly. So I'm hoping someone can guide me on the best way to tie this data in with the state of the DNN login? It's just a collection of IDs that are stored in session, nothing complex, but I query these IDs as the user navigates throughout the site.

Thanks for any input!

Again, to summarize - when a user completes their DNN login I query and hold a number of IDs from related login tables in session.

When sessions expire, I'd like to ask the user to login again, but their DNN login is still persisted, so that makes for a very confusing experience.

So I think I'm either not storing this data in the correct method, or there's something else wrong.

forgive the bump, but im really in need of some direction here.Thank you.

DNN doesn't use any session variables, because those are not supported in web farm scenarios.

You might consider storing the information in a cookie or in database (and cached).

I was about to go down this road, and I appreciate the clarification - makes sense.
