Hi All

I want to create a simple document management system.

Simply put, I want 4 levels of access:

  1. Author who can upload / delete / manage their files. there may be many authors and authors can not see files created by others.
  2. Reviewers who can view ALL documents
  3. Management who can only view documents passed onto them by reviewers
  4. Admin of course who can do anything !

Can anybody let me know if this is possible? (I assume it is) - Any pointers are gladly received.

I have been doing this at home as a mini project and have been making little progress. I have setup security roles but this is far too generic.

I need to be able to setup rules at user level as well as at a higher security level.

Any help would be very welcome

regards

Steve

Steve,

sure, this is possible by creating a custom module. I am not aware of a module providing this out of the box, however, it might depend what you call a "document".

Hi Sebastian

When i refer to a document I realy mean word documents.

However, I can see scope to expand this to almost any document type. The document type should not be the issue. I am realy interested in 'managing' the documents as I described in my previous post.

regards

Steve
