Is there some sort of locale pack available for Europe?

I'm currently stuck using Catalook until I find a better solution and what I'd like to do is have a general Europe Portal in English so the base currency can be both fixed to Euros and displayed in Euros.

I have set the base currency to Euros but as I don't want DNN to start using another European language as default I've selected the UK English language pack.  Because of this, now the Catalook store only displays products in £s!

I can only think this is in the language pack and Catalook offers no obvious control over this. I'd rather not ask their support which I've found poor since I discovered a very minor bug in a feature I needed... resulting in them removing the feature completely!

Trying to figure this one out.  Did attempt the Catalook changing currency symbol, only works in the list of them all (not the default one) but then changes all Portals!

Thinking I can either add an English language pack from some other locale and then use this, adjust it to my needs... or... create a language pack but I'm unsure what settings to choose and if it might have an effect on existing language packs such as the Resource Locale chosen from the onces installed.

Does any know how creating a language pack might work?

I can choose the Resource Locale: English, but then it gives a choice of Core, Module, Provider, or Full.  I've no real idea what these mean and then with the Resource Pack Name I wouldn't be sure either.

Given the limitations I can only think an extra language pack copied from en-GB such as "en-EU" might be a solution... if this is even an easy thing to do.

Any help or direction would be appreciated!

David, there is no European Language pack, because there is no European language.

Language is not connected to currency (and there are still several currency used in Europe), please contact CataLook on details, how currency is selected and currencies may be disabled.

Hi Sebastian

I understand there is no European language pack and no "European" language which is why I've asked about how a language pack might be able to be create or used for such a need and act as though it is a "European" language pack (but just as a copy of another English language pack). Is this too difficult?

Unfortunately with Catalook the language is directly connected to the currency displayed which is the whole problem. I change the currency symbol shown for one Catalook portal in English and they all change!

:-(  I wish there was a decent e-commerce solution for DNN - so many e-commerce sites out there that appear to do this stuff easily, just not with DNN yet

David,

languages require a true culture, i.e. en-US or en-GB. But how about using en-IE (ireland), who used Euro currency?

Simply add the language and no language files, i.e. default resource files will be used.

HTH
