I'm looking for serious blogs module (i don't like the core blogs module) and glossary module (like
wikipedia).

I didn't find any ot them in snow covered.
Is it possible that there are no blog and/or glossary for DNN??

Thanks.

I have recently released a Glossary module for DNN3. You can find it at: http://www.snowcovered.com/Snowcovered2/Default.aspx?tabid=242&PackageID=4218&search=glossary&pagenumber=0&sortby=&tagid

You can see it in action at: http://www.rarify.biz/TelecomGlossary/tabid/59/Default.aspx

General Features are:

  • Spider friendly content and links
  • Multiple display formats
  • Create multiple Glossary modules on each DNN Portal Site
  • Generate Google Site Maps
  • Includes Word-of-the-Day Module
  • Change the status of an individual word from Active to Inactive
  • Individual words can be excluded from the Word-of-the-Day display module

If you are looking for other features / enhancements, feel free to ask. The module is under active development.

Take care,

Matt

What do you mean by serious blogs?  I've been using these blogs since before they were in the core application and found them to be pretty good - maybe I'm missing something.

However, you could also use the articles module found on http://www.ventrian.com.au (Hope it's got the au  it's scott's new site) and he has a template that's for blogs.

I think some of these blogs concepts on the net are actually pretty poor - they are only for blogs, so no site integration, and they can't be nicely integrated to websites and often their posting reply permissions are cumbersome.

What are you looking for in your quest for a *serious* blogging application?
