Does anybody know whether DotNetNuke has a content classifying system similar to Taxonomy in Drupal?

No, this isn't built in. There might be 3rd party modules implementing it, have a look at www.snowcovered.com

Thanks Sebastian. Drupal has this version which is very handy for managing larger websites. I will check out snowcovered. Thanks

It is coming and fairly soon.  There's not much yet on Taxonomy aside from:
http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=11564&PROJID=2
and (briefly)
www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryId/2459/Community-2010-A-Building-Wave.aspx
but I suspect once they get it working they will then try to document it.
