John, you 'da man!  I wouldn't have thought of using relative positioning.

Darkone, put John's code in your skin .ascx file in place of what's there for Search already.

thanks for the code but i have a nother problem now
the code dusend exist in my current skin
is there any way that i stil can alter the gif whit out changing skin?

Please paste the code from your skin and try to explain in a different way what you are trying to do. 

The relative positioning can be used to move any image, so this should solve your problem, but maybe we are not understanding what the problem is.
