I know how to link to iframe using the html modlue (<a href="http://www.yahoo.com" target="name_given_to_iframe"> )

However, I want to use the links module cuz I like that dropdown box thing.  how can I include that target="name_given_to_iframe" when I add links using the links module?

I am not sure what you mean.  Where exactly do I put  the window.open()?  (I pasted the add link page below.  where do I add it? )

Oops, sorry, window.open can only be used for a popup. you will need to extend the module to support target frame.

Maybe it is easier using Text/HTML module and insert link, the insert link dialog allows to specify target frame - though I am aware, this is for advanced editors only. another option would be using UserDefinedTable aka formAndList (DNN5) module, with a calculated column for the link.
