Hi All

im using DNN 5.1.2

i have uploaded a few skins recently and have had a few problems.  in particular when i upload a skin, apply it, use it for a few days, then upload a container and try and apply the container.

the container works and is applied for "edit" mode and admin modules such as site settings or host settings, but when in view mode, or when logged out in 'guest' mode it reverts back to the old container and does not display.  its stuck on the _default/no container.ascx and i cant figure out how to tell it to update or why my new container only works in edit mode and not all the time.

any ideas?

You have both "Admin" and "Regular" settings for the default container.  Be sure that both are set properly in Site Settings.

Thanks for your reply.

if by admin and regular you mean portal container and edit container as listed under appearance, then yes they are set to the container i want.  i have even tried changing them and changing back but still nothing.  no matter what container i change to, it does not apply to the guest/view mode on the existing pages.

yes i have checked both page and module settings for containers - they are all use portal default.

this has happened on a couple of different installs, so i cant be doing something wrong?

Ever get an answer for this?  We're still running 5.1.1 and are experiencing the same issues.

From what i can remember it was a simple mistake - i believe it was something like i had the 'display container' option deselected. of course it would then not matter what container you had selected. you wouldnt see it.
